Why teens need more snooze time: What is sleep influenced by?
TV influences my sleep, haha. I give up and roll into bed once there's not anything interesting on tv, or sometimes I just say screw it and fall asleep with the tv on.
Teens need more snooze time because their bodies are transitioning into adulthood. It takes a lot of building for that, and it all happens during sleep. Little sleep can trow a monkey wrench in the body works.
Sleep is influenced by a hormone, which starts being produced by the body when it starts getting dark. Too much exposure to artificial light (or TV/Computer screens) can retard the release of the hormone or reduce its production. Lack of enough sleep can cause stress, chronic fatigue, even violent behavior.
Surprise, surprise, why do we see kids killing each other in schools nowadays?? You answer that.
TEENS NEED MORE SLEEP CAUSE THEY STAY UP LATE ON THE WEEKENDS ,.ALSO THEY NEED MORE SLEEP SO THEY CAN STUDY GOOD ..THATS WHY ALOT OF TEENS ARE NERVOUS AND DEPRESSED ..NOT ENOUGH SLEEP
PLUS TOO MUCH HOMEWORK AND PEER PRESSURE FROM PEOPLE IN SCHOOL CAN CAUSE YOU STRESS WHICH MAKES YOU WANT SLEEP MORE
Teens only need more sleep if you compare them to adults. As you get older your body needs less sleep. For instance, a newborn will sleep for around 18-20 hours a day normally. By the time you're a senior citizen, you may very well only need 5-6 hours of sleep.
